London Dungeon: the Capital’s Scariest Attraction

One popular destination for visitors to central London is the London Dungeon. Popular with adults and children alike, the Dungeon showcases horrific and macabre events from centuries of London’s history.

Originally a simple themed museum, today’s London Dungeon has evolved into an interactive experience, with actors taking on the parts of London’s disreputable characters and guiding visitors through a 90-minute tour.

Scenes of terror include the crimes of Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd, as well as disasters such as the Great Fire of London.

Other elements of the interactive experience include exciting rides: the Vengeance 5D ride pits visitors against a horde of angry Victorian ghosts, while the Extremis Drop Ride through the terrifying experience of a Newgate hanging.

The dungeon is open every day of the year except Christmas. Opening times vary throughout the year, with special late opening hours on Halloween.

The entrance for visitors is located at 28-34 Tooley Street in Southwark, close to the London Bridge tube and rail stations. Visitors can purchase tickets on the door or in advance on the dungeon’s website.
